National Eat Out Week runs from 21 to 27 November and is the perfect time to celebrate Scotland's Year of Food & Drink. Scotland's fantastic natural larder provides chefs across the country with quality local produce resulting in mouth-watering dishes on menus across the land.

So why not give the cook in your home the night off and enjoy National Eat Out Week in one of Scotland's many eateries? From cafes and gastro pubs to Michelin starred restaurants and everything in between, Scotland provides something to suit every budget and all tastes.

Edinburgh is Scotland’s top gourmet city so you’re spoilt for choice of places to eat out.  The city supports three Michelin star restaurants all based around The Shore: The Plumed Horse; The Kitchin; and Restaurant Martin Wishart and 21212 in the city centre. For great views, try The Forth Floor at Harvey Nichols, The Tower or Oloroso and vegetarians can be spoilt in David Bann’s or Kalpna.

For a real treat outside of Edinburgh, spoil yourself at Andrew Fairlie's two Michelin-starred restaurant in Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire or take a trip to Skye and make the impossible choice between Lady Claire Macdonald's Kinloch Lodge or Shirley Spear's The Three Chimneys. In the north east, The Green Inn in Ballater offers multi award winning cuisine or relax in Piperdam's Room with a View restaurant on the outskirts of Dundee.

To find quality eating places across Scotland, have a look at the EatScotland website at eatscotland.visitscotland.com. The site is full of information about restaurants, chefs, seasonal food, foodie trips and trails, local producers and great competitions for gourmet prizes.
